YOUR BANK OF INNATE POETIC KNOWLEDGE
Held via Zoom, April 24, 2024, 12-2PM
Craft a personalized holistic plan for financial self-care through mapping your resources through poetic expression, meditation and guided rest building strategies.
By the end of the course, you will have built a comprehensive financial self-care plan, gained clarity on your personal life vision strategy, and developed the mindset and practices needed to thrive financially as an artist within the new economic paradigm. Your innate poetic knowledge will act as a guide, empowering you to reclaim your bank of resources while creating a prosperous creative work-life balance.
DREAMBODY REST SYLLABUS
June 19th, 2024
Centering themes of rest and restoration as a creative instrument for radical world building, exploring horizontality, the esoteric, and community archival methodologies, Dreambody Rest Syllabus (DRS) gifts critical time and space to its participants to deepen the reservoir of dreaming as a creative tool to allow the critical embodiments for healing, rest reparation, and care to emerge.
TRANSGRESSIVE BODY WORKSHOP
How do we as movement practitioners train and strengthen the mind and body to resist oppressive structures and systems? How might tools of self-care, personal meditation, and psychic choreographic systems support and prepare us for site-based and/or theatrical radical performance making? How does the teaching of theory promote new systems for intellectual simulation and understanding? Centering an interdisciplinary approach to live performance making, this creative lab will consider how we as artist-citizens strengthen the mind and body to resist normalized structures of performance to release, activate, and translate unknown, foreign, and/or vulnerable materials into live performance actions.
Participants are encouraged to bring:
questions about their own work and practice that they are willing to unfold and share within a group environment
radical costumes that disguise their bodies
one or more personal items they feel comfortable sharing and working with in public space
RADICAL REIMAGININGS AND OTHER SELF-LOVE PRACTICES
These study sessions will center themes of slowness, ensemble building, the construction of radical kinship, care, and love as modes of embodied performance exploration and self-examination. Participants will consider skills related to personal narrative as a site of creative investigation, renewal, and healing. Open to all folx interested in exploring their previously uncharted performative, thinking, and emotional potential.
While this workshop welcomes ALL people, this space centers individuals who identify as QTPOC, Black, and/or Indigenous participants. This workshop is inclusive and open to creative folks interested in grappling with themes of interdisciplinarity, collaboration, and identity within their creative life practice.
