PORTAL FOR(E) THE EPHEMERAL PASSAGE (2022)

Building on previous research involving the intergenerational passage of feminist Black knowledge, queer theory, sacred rituals of intimacy and wellness, kosoko has curated an exhibition centering the radical interior lifeworlds and spatial cosmologies of Black presence and the altered visual legacies and landscapes they occupy in their wake.

BLACK JOY SESSIONS

Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within. ― James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time

The Black Joy Sessions is a participant-driven event. Together we experience and reflect on the critical embodiment of Black Joy in culture, opening up a stimulating and fluid space for creativity, pop up performance and discussion. The Black Joy Sessions aims to bridge the gaps between academia and community, initiating empowering community-led convenings that promote ambitious thinking and critical engagement, creating an exciting and nurturing space for everyone involved outside the gaze of whiteness.

BLACK POETRY:

A CONFERENCE (2019)

Black Poetry: A Conference was a truly historic international and inter-generational gathering. Over the span of 3 days, more than 40 black poets came together to read from their work and consider the most urgent social, political and artistic questions of our time.
